Wednesday October 16, 2013 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Museum of York County  (map)

Tree-mendous Trees! Meet in the Museum at 12:45 to sign in and if you intend to drop off, we must have an emergency form on file. Programs are from 1 pm -3 pm and adults must arrive promptly at the end of the program to pick up students inside the museum.

Walk our Piedmont Trail to discover which trees were here in the Ice Age and how plants prepare for winter. Leaf and bark rubbings for the younger students will take place. Older students will use Tree sections to learn about the life of a tree and play an interactive game that teaches how trees use their available resources to survive.

Please dress for the weather and wear closed toe shoes. This program will be almost entirely outdoors. Younger students will have a 45 minute planetarium show on Perfect Little Planet.

Older students will have a brief planetarium show “Carolina Skies Tonight” and a longer time outdoors. Feel free to come early and have lunch before the program in the picnic area.

Please call our scheduler if you are coming for sure so we can have enough materials on hand. Registration is limited to the first 50 students.
